On Wednesday, January 23rd, 2019, at approximately 7:22PM officers responded to the intersection of Main Avenue South and 2nd Street South for a report of an injury accident. It was found one driver had fled prior to officers arriving. It was found one of the vehicles involved had been stolen from a business in the 200 block of Main Avenue South. Video was obtained of the suspect walking away from the area after the accident.

On Monday, November 5th, 2018, three individuals entered a business in the 2200 block of 6th Street and stole two TV's and a laundry basket of new merchandise. Other merchandise was removed from the store but left outside the store. The suspects left in a gray van.

On Sunday, July 8th, 2018, the pictured males entered a closed business in the 100 block of Main Avenue South. While at the business they left several of their personal items behind. Circled in the photographs are locations where touch DNA and fingerprints were left behind. Also found was a cigarette butt with DNA. The Brookings Police Department would like to reunite the males with their lost property. If these items belong to you please come to the Brookings Police Department to claim them.

On Thursday, May 3rd, 2018, Officers took a report of a stolen Yorkie dog and three puppies from a business located in the 800 block of 2nd Street South. Stolen were one male Yorkie puppy, one adult female Yorkie, and two female Yorkie puppies. The male Yorkie was later located southwest of Brookings and returned to the owner.

Missing adult female Yorkie: Tri-color (black, tan, and white) with white tips and white toes, approximately 6-7 years old, answers to Julie.

Missing female Yorkie puppy (1): black and tan with curly hair, approximately 8-9 weeks old

Missing female Yorkie puppy (2) black and tan straight hair, approximately 8-9 weeks old

Attempt to identify criminal entry of a motor vehicle

STATUS: OPEN
On Monday, May 7th, 2018, at approximately 3:00 PM, an unknown male broke out the window of a vehicle parked at the Brookings Hospital parking lot, 300 22nd Avenue, and stole loose change and cigarettes. The male suspect was caught on video along with the vehicle he was in. It is believed there was a female driving the vehicle at the time of the incident.

On Monday, March 12th, 2018, two individuals entered a business in the 2400 block of 6th Street. One of the suspects stole a Dewalt hammer drill from the business. Video surveillance was obtained of the suspects and their vehicle.
